HAND MADE Stories

A Collection of Fiction and Memories

Written by

Carol Roper

I am an award winning, produced and published playwright, who worked for every major Hollywood studio and TV networks and with Robin Williams early in his career.

A proud lifetime member of the Writers Guild Of America, now retired. I’ve survived 8 Republican presidencies and am living gently beyond expectations in Mexico and writing character driven stories about people and dogs and life.

Writing stories is done in private and read there as well. As the author I don’t get to see a readers reaction. With a play the writer gets to see immediately whether a story connects to the audience, or not. But plays are live and ephemeral. Once viewed they don’t appear exactly the same again because it’s a live performance. Once the lights dim it’s seen only in the memories of those who were present.

Short story collections, movies, books once published remain the same for all time and there is value and comfort in their consistency and the familiar.

I trust you find something in these stories that made the time you spend here worthwhile and wish you kind dreams.

Hand Made Stories Some amuse, some surprise, some are stories-in-progress.

“You are a beautiful writer” Ellen Furman, screenwriter The Infiltrator, The Postcard Killings, Bigger.

“I like the honesty of your stories.” Frances Madeson, freelance journalist, author Cooperative Village, a satire
